How Long Does a Building and Pest Inspection Take?
Having a building and pest inspection done is important for your home. However, the length of the inspection is dependent on your location and the type of inspection you need. For example, our Comprehensive Combined Building and Pest Inspection takes approximately 2-3 hours. This is longer than most building and pest inspections because our inspections simply dig deeper and we inspect more areas that other inspectors don't.
Is the Building & Pest Inspection Time always the same?
Comprehensive Building and pest inspections generally take around 2-3hrs. However, the time can be longer if the inspector finds issues. During the inspection, the inspector will look at the exterior and interior of the home for structural defects. They'll also look for termite activity. Some pests such as termites, ants and mice will be able to find their way into your home by exploiting structural damage.
If the inspector finds a pest problem, he'll need to assess it further. When buying a home, the inspection will also cover the exterior of the home, including the roof, roof cavity (where the inspector can enter), walls, and fittings.
How long is a building & pest inspection valid for?
Obtaining a building & pest inspection can be an important part of buying a house. They are not only a way to identify defects, they can also help you plan maintenance and renovations. These reports can also give you an idea of the value of the property. Since the conditions such as pests and building condition can change soon after an inspection, the inspection report is generally valid for 4 weeks after the inspection. This is why timing of the building and pest inspection is crucial so you know what you're buying.
